Marie Antoinette

by Glenna Garcia on October 11, 2011

Here we have a rather graphic and macabre tattoo of Marie Antoinette of Austria, who was tried and executed by guillotine on 16 October 1793.  Originally an Archduchess of Austria, she was accused of having sympathies to countries other than France after she married Louis XVI of France, becoming Queen. While this tattoo is kind of dark, we can see that the artist is quite talented. The face is done really well, with fine details throughout.  The hair and dress are also exceptional.  With roses to frame the picture, it is complete with a heart at the top as well.
