Owl Girl

by Glenna Garcia on September 20, 2011

The client for this piece asked for either a girl, or perhaps an owl…so artist Christina Garcia of Orlando, Florida gave him both!  Meet a very somber ‘owl girl’.  The artist, Christina, has a bit of a dark feel to her work.  Nonetheless, her pieces are a nice mix of small details, great perspective and punches of color.   The owl headdress is very well done, with nice shading and blending down to the girls head and hair.  The wings of the feathers wrap around and envelop the arms and hands.  The left hand looks like it is sporting a key hole with blood issuing from it, while the right hand holds a jeweled egg.  Certainly an interesting piece and interesting work going on here!
