The shape and movement of this tattoo is what mostly caught my attention on this tree tattoo. It is and interesting combination of soft lines, coloring and more blurred lines that most tree images. The shape created at the top of the shoulder is really nice. Not only does it follow the natural contours of the upper arm, it creates a feeling of protection, as the branches lean over to provide some protection and cover for the leaves below. The darker side of the tree is colored soft black, and we can see that that side of the tree is dead, with withered leaves and no life. It looks like that part of the tree is acting as a buffer for the side of the tree that is still alive and growing leaves, flowers and even some grass. The shading is nice and the overall piece makes you think.
